‘Gladiator II’ Director Denies Denzel Washington’s Same-Sex Kiss Ever Happened

Ridley Scott, the director of Gladiator 2 starring Denzel Washington, has denied the actor’s claims that his man on man kiss was minimize from the film.

“I actually kissed a man in the film but they took it out, they cut it, I think they got chicken,” he advised a reporter who requested him how “gay” Rome was. “I kissed a guy full on the lips and I guess they weren’t ready for that yet.”

He added, “I killed him about five minutes later. It’s Gladiator. It’s the kiss of death.”

In a purple carpet interview, Scott advised Selection the kiss simply didn’t occur.

“No, that’s bullsh-tt. It was a senator. They never did. They acted the moment and [it] didn’t happen,” he mentioned.

Talking to the outlet, Washington downplayed the kiss.

“It really is much ado about nothing,” he mentioned. “They’re making more of it than it was. I kissed him on his hands, I gave him a peck and I killed him.”
